This romantic place to stay offers a history all its own. Set in the conservation village of Ruston, The Snug offers a self contained cosy base for two, within a Grade ii listed farmstead. Offering home comforts, including a log burner, Feather and Black King Size bed with a Hotel du Vin range luxury mattress, and an ensuite shower room. The property has a small private patio, and even space enough for 1 well behaved dog. With heaps of character and charm you'll be Snug as a Bug during your stay. PLEASE NOTE - A characteristic of this historic cottage is that the stairway to the first floor bedroom is quite narrow, and has a relatively tight turn at the top. Anyone concerned about this should please consider whether the property is suitable for them. Please refer to photos included in the listing and feel free to ask for more information or photos. After a few years living in the sunshine in Turkey, we’ve recently taken on the historic West Hill Farmstead. Having now completed the updates on both Blacksmith's Barn, and our cottage, The Snug, with our stamp of eclectic style and home comforts, we look forward to sharing these with you. In our spare time we will be exploring the beautiful countryside, coastline and villages around us, along with our 3 Turkish rescue dogs, Yogi, Skye and Charlie. We like to welcome guests with a quick intro to the property and will be available for any help if necessary during your stay. Otherwise, we allow people to enjoy their space and time.
The Snug nestles in the idyllic conservation village of Ruston, on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, within the grounds of West Hill farmstead. You can head out for a country walk directly from the property or take a short drive to the coast, Dalby Forest and the many beautiful surrounding towns and villages. Dates unavailable? Take a look at our neighbouring property, Blacksmiths Barn, a larger space and also dog friendly, up to 2 house trained dogs. Walks onto the moors are accessible from the property , whilst a short drive will take you to the many local attractions. Take a look at our guide book for some ideas and suggestions.

The cottage was built in the mid 1800s and has some characterful features remaining, including the staircase to the bedroom which is slightly narrow and tight at the top turn. Shouldn't be a problem for most but please look at the photos provided if you have any concerns re access.
