The Squirrels is a private studio annexe attached to our house with its own entrance and private patio area with table and chairs and charcoal BBQ.
We have a fully fitted kitchen with a dishwasher, electric oven, and fridge with a small freezer, kettle, and microwave. Tea and coffee are provided.
Smart 40-inch TV in lounge with comfortable sofa.
The bedroom has a king-size bed.
Electric shower. Complimentary soaps and shampoo. Owners' gardens and pool are available to enjoy.
The shared pool is open from May to September and is open daily from 10am-4pm Weather permitting. *The pool is not a private pool to The Squirrels as we use it as well as other guests staying at Woodpeckers.
* There is a high step into the lounge and also down into the kitchen.
Welcome to Ferndale Holiday Lets. My name is Debbie, and my co-host is Brian. We live at Ferndale and have been living here for 14 years. We enjoy being outside in the garden, and I like pottering in the vegetable garden and tending to my my rescue hens. We enjoy walking our new puppy, Doug, whom you will see wandering around the garden. He loves to go out for walks in our local countryside.

Brightlingsea beach and Wivenhoe town and University of Essex 10 min drive away. Local pub 5 min walk.
Bus service to Wivenhoe and Colchester or Brightlingsea and Clacton on sea. Alresford train station is a 10-minute walk away. Direct service to Colchester and London Liverpool Street.
The village of Alresford Essex is a good location for the University of Essex in Wivenhoe. Also close to the coastal town of Brightlingsea. Alresford Creek is a lovely riverside walk into Wivenhoe or further on to Colchester, which is about 8 miles. You can stop for a drink by the river at The Rose and Crown in Wivenhoe.
