With a front-row seat to the spectacular views of Monmouthshire’s rolling hills, Beaufort Farmhouse is a gorgeous Jacobean farmhouse filled with personality and quirky charm. The stylish interior sits over four floors and is a carefully curated blend of antiques, curios, oil paintings and sumptuous fabrics. Ancient beams, flagstone floors and roaring fires are historical echoes of an intriguing past. The property now has all the mod-cons you’ll need for your stay, and some fun additions, like Smart TVs, a games room with a snooker and pool table, a Sonos sound system, and a PlayStation. There are five sumptuous bedrooms, with a single room leading from the Nell Gwyn room. Swoon-worthy bathrooms aplenty, and a fabulous kitchen diner. Pretty gardens and a glorious terrace sit under the peaceful gaze of St. Nicholas Church, whilst the village pub, is just a short stroll away. Please note a 25% deposit is required at the time of booking. This is fully refundable up to 60 days of arrival when your remaining balance payment is due. If you would like bedroom 1 or 3 to be arranged as twin rooms, please contact us directly 7 days before arrival.  The owner of this property requires a 500GBP good housekeeping bond. They will be in contact with you directly to discuss 3 well-behaved dogs are welcome for an additional fee of 40 GBP per dog. This fee is not included in the rental price. Please advise us at the time of booking if you are bringing a dog/s and you will be sent an a request for the additional fee. It is the policy of this property not to take bookings for groups where the majority of guests are under the age of 25. There is an additional charge for the AGA, please contact the owner directly to organise this (please note there is also a gas hob, double oven and microwave)

Neighbourhood information

The little village of Grosmont lies tucked into the rolling hills of Monmouthshire and is where you’ll find the ruins of Grosmont Castle, one of the Three Castles of Gwent. There is also an excellent local pub in the village with good food and live entertainment. The walking is superb with Skirrid Fawr and Garway Hill on the doorstep. Sugar Loaf in Abergavenny and the Offa’s Dyke path as it passes through the Brecon Beacons. Symonds Yat and Ross-on-Wye are within easy reach offering a wealth of outdoor activities and watersports, whilst history buffs can visit Hereford Cathedral to see the Mappa Mundi and any number of castles. Head to Hay-on-Wye for wonderful book shops or venture further afield to Ludlow, one of the loveliest towns on the Welsh Borders. Cafes, pubs, and restaurants: The Angel Inn, Grosmont – a traditional, family run pub with real ales and good food. Bookings are recommended if you want to dine (100m) The Bridge Inn, Kentchurch – local, estate owned pub on the river (1 mile) Under the Nut Tree, Kentchurch – unique dining experience with local produce prepared over the barbecue. Weekend dinners and occasional Sunday lunches from March to Christmas. Booking only (3 miles) Temple Bar, Ewyas Harold – popular at weekends and there is an excellent fish and chip shop opposite (4 miles) 1861 Restaurant, Cross Ash – excellent restaurant with a menu created daily. Set lunch and dinner menus as well as a la carte and a tasting menu (4 miles) Walks: There are myriad walks on the doorstep, including Skirrid Fawr, Garway Hill, Sugar Loaf in Abergavenny and Offa’s Dyke Path. You are also on the Three Castles Walk, a 19-mile circular trail which links the medieval castles of Grosmont, White and Skenfrith. The Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains are within easy reach.
