The property is a 5-6 minute drive from the M4, which gives easy access to Bristol and Cardiff. Villa Rosa is situated on the border of two historic villages, Magor and Redwick, where there are numerous traditional pubs, churches, and walks through the the scenic Gwent Levels. There's plenty to explore in the surrounding area: For nature-lovers, the nearby Magor Marsh Reserve is one of Wales' last remaining areas of fenland. Here you can stroll along the boardwalks to the bird-hide for some wildlife-spotting. RSPB Newport Wetlands Nature Reserve, home to bearded tits, cettis, warblers and other wildlife, is a 20-minute drive away. There are also plenty of coastal walks to enjoy along the Severn Estuary, a unique landscape which boasts one of the world's highest tidal ranges. Why not end your walk or cycle with a pint of ale in one of the area's many quaint pubs? Some of South Wales' best countryside can also be accessed by car, including the stunning Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Bannau Breycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, as well as towns and villages steeped in history. Nearby highlights include: Caerleon (20 minutes by car), the site of a notable Roman fortress; Crickhowell (47 minutes by car) a well-preserved Georgian Town with independent and artisan shops; Tintern (30 minutes by car), home to the spectacular ruins of Tintern Abby; Hay-on-Wye (1hr 21 by car), a market town world-renowned for its bookshops where you can also kayak in the Wye River.
