Adjoining the National Cycle Route 81 (Aberystwyth - Wolverhampton) and with a little-used landing stage on the River Severn just outside, the property offers fantastic opportunities for cyclists, ramblers and water-sport enthusiasts alike. Paddle-board, kayak, canoe and cycle hire are available from several operators in town. Drummond Outdoor also do canoe history tours of the town, encircled as it is by the River Severn. Space to store/charge such equipment, if you bring your own, can be found on the ground floor of the house and in its secure garden. Immediately accessible, Shrewsbury hosts a wide variety of shows and events throughout the summer months (the Quarry Park being just a short walk along the river) and boasts a castle, many restaurants, museums and plenty of other indoor activities. The surrounding countryside offers many exciting adventures and Shrewsbury's a great base to explore deep into Wales.
