The cottage was wonderful - spacious, cosy and well equipped. The bed was amazing - best bed we've ever slept in whilst on holiday, and on par with our own super king bed at home! Very quiet location but only a short drive into Okehampton - a...

Clean and welcoming... Felt bigger than in the pictures.. Bed was huge, got lost in there.. Kitchen had everything you could ever need and all clean, ready to use (at some venues find we have to wash before use). Living area was comfortable...

Peace and quiet area, lovely surroundings. Town centre nearby with enough facilities, shops, sightseeings, etc.. The location is perfect and connected with the rest of Devon and Cornwall to see and enjoy the fantastic coastline and countryside.

Both Moonseeker and Dreamcatcher were recently converted from barns at our former working farm. The farmstead itself is medieval in origin and retains many character features. We particularly wanted to create self-catering accommodation that was of a high standard. We enjoy staying in holiday cottages ourselves and wanted to provide guests with our idea of the perfect holiday accommodation - that meant a high standard of cleanliness, comfortable and very well equipped. The cottages are in a terrific location, just 1.5 miles from all the ameneties of the market town of Okehampton, yet set about 250 metres down a quiet unmade lane that takes you between fields into peace and quiet. If you love being able to enjoy the diverse nature of the West Country, the coasts, moors, Rosamund Pilcher trail, cycling, walking without committing to "a beach holiday" or "a countryside holiday", then we think you might find our location perfect!
Our cottages are run by myself and my family. We are all involved in making guests feel welcome, from cleaning and making up the cottages, gardening and maintenance, and the legendary cake making by mum! We enjoy preparing the cottages ready to work their magic and help people relax and recharge. We are animal lovers, and love the countryside, enjoying walks on Dartmoor, the South West Coast Path, kayaking and cycling (serious cycling for Trevor, not so very serious cycling and plenty of coffee stops for me!) We love where we live and we hope you will enjoy spending your holiday in this wonderful part of England.
Where do I start!! Locally we have our village of Sampford Courtenay, famous for it role in the Prayer Book Rebellion of 1549. A 30 minute walk takes you to Abbeyford Woods - great for dogs! We also have a lovely park in Okehampton where you can walk onto Dartmoor. About a 5 minute drive will bring you to Belstone, our nearest Dartmoor village with a pub with fabulous views over the green to the moor. Plenty of walking options from here. Okehampton has a tourist information office at the Museum of Dartmoor Life. Okehampton has a golf course and there is a large course at Ashbury, just a 10 minute drive away. If you like cycling we are just off National Cycle Route 27, and The Granite Way, Tarka Trail, Drakes Trail, Camel Trail are all popular cycle and walking trails with our guests. A little bit further afield will bring you to Castle Drogo (National Trust) and the gardens of RHS Rosemoor. The nearest beaches are about 40 minutes away (pretty much whichever way you go - Devon coast or Cornwall coast), and many are dog friendly all year. And that's just to get you started - we are quite sure you won't run out of things to do!!
