The house is a newly renovated 16th Century cottage, set on the edge of a lovely village in the Piddle Valley. The house is set in mature gardens with beautiful cooper beach trees and lime trees along the River Piddle which flows at the bottom of the garden. The house boasts a summer only outdoor swimming pool. There is a climbing frame, trampoline, swings across the river and plenty of space to run around.
I have recently spent a year refurbishing the house to make it warm, cosy and comfortable. The separate annex is inviting with lovely sitting room and log burner. (Logs are included in your stay) where you can relax after an event or a day in the country. The gallery kitchen has all mod cons including a dish washer. The bedrooms are clean , new and comfortable and there is an en suite shower room for the double bedroom, and a bath for the twin room.
Piddletrenthide boasts two pubs and another The Brace of Pheasants which won Dorset pub of the year. The walking here is outstanding, near the Wessex ridgeway. The famous Cerene Abbas Giant is a stones throw away. Mountain bike trails are excellent and we are near the pretty towns of Dorchester and Sherborne. We are situated on 20 minutes from great beaches and Weymouth. The Purbecks and Lyme Regis are not far either. So much to explore along the Jurassic coast.
