This is a family holiday house within a four thousand square meter estate (κτήμα in Greek) situated in the countryside at the south of Corfu. Spyros, the owner, a retired medical doctor, together with his family started creating a garden full of trees back in the ‘70s, in what was, and still is, a rural area with the closest village (Stroggili) been 3km away. He, his children and now his grandchildren spend a part of their summers there. The estate is surrounded by fields, guaranteeing peace and calm, not far from the Messoggi stream, in an area that abounds with wildlife. The house is spacious, simply furnished, with all the necessary amenities. It is ideal for one or two families. The garden is beautiful with ample space for kids to wonder around and play. There is an outside kiosk that features a very large table that can easily seat more then a dozen of people with a little outdoor salon, and a swimming pool where you can choose your corner in the sun or in the shadow. The house is spacious, simply furnished, with all the necessary amenities. It is split in two autonomous appartments that can be used either independently or jointly. It can easily host two families with their own independent living spaces, that include individual kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms. The garden is the result of a lot of love and work that started back in the 70s. It features a variety of trees such as pines, eucalypti, olive trees, platanī, tilias, laurels, wallnut trees, fruit trees as well as a small vineyard. The estate rests in an unspoiled part of south Corfu surrounded by olive groves, that are hundred years old, and gardens in which Corfiats grow their vegetables and fruits. Being 3km away from the closest village you will hear nothing else than the nature sounds, cicadas on summer days, crickets and owls in summer nights; the estate literally rests within the nature.

The village of Moraitika is six minutes by car and the beaches of Issos and Chalikounas 15 minutes. Between the Issos and Chalikounas beach seats the wild life reserve of the Korission laggoon, a part of the Natura 2000 network, where more than 100 species of birds find refuge every year, including flamingos, cormorants, ducks and more. If you are in to running/trekking you can make it to the beach of Moraitika, to the west, by crossing the hill that separates the estate from the Moraitika in something like 40 minutes, take a swim and come back running; don’t forget to take plenty of water with you. To the west you can also take a run within the ancient olive groves, though this might be a bit more challenging to navigate.
