Zaton se nalazi u blizini više gradova s istaknutom kulturnom i povijesnom baštinom kao i u blizini dvaju nacionalnih parkova što ga čini idealnom polaznom točkom za istraživanje, a kako je samo mjesto manje te kako za razliku od okolnih mjesta nije u tolikoj mjeri napučeno, to ga dodatno čini idealnim mjestom za odmaranje i opuštanje.
