Studio Apartments & Rooms Lela are located in a charming stone house in the heart of Šipanska Luka, a peaceful village on the northwestern side of Šipan Island, just an hour by ferry from Dubrovnik. The house, originally built in the 19th century, was completely reconstructed in 2015 to combine traditional character with modern comfort. Our property features three studio apartments (two Superior Studios and one Studio Deluxe) and three Deluxe Rooms, which can be booked individually or in a Connecting option (Superior Studio with a Deluxe Room). All guests are welcome to enjoy the shared terrace with outdoor seating—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Welcome to Studio Apartments & Rooms Lela on the island of Šipan, the largest of the Elaphiti Islands near Dubrovnik. My name is Jelena, and I was born and raised here in a big local family with a deep love for our island’s traditions and hospitality. Tourism has always been my passion—I studied Tourism and Hospitality, worked in restaurants and hotels, and eventually became a Reception Manager before completing my Master’s degree in Hotel Industry. In 2021, I decided to follow my dream and create something of my own by taking over our family’s accommodation, naming it after my mother, Lela. Since then, I’ve been personally managing every detail: welcoming guests, handling reservations, ensuring spotless rooms, and making sure every stay is comfortable and memorable. My goal is to offer more than just a place to sleep. I want to create a warm, homely atmosphere with the quality and service of a hotel. This is a true family project—my dad designed and oversaw the renovation of the house, and my mum runs a lovely souvenir shop just steps away. Together, we make sure every guest feels not just welcomed, but at home, as part of our family. For something different, take a kayak or a boat to reach the most secluded spots — hidden bays and beautiful beaches where you can swim in the crystal-clear sea. If you love walking and nature, you’ll find plenty of trails: stroll along the coast or hike up to the island’s highest peak for breathtaking views of the bay. Prefer relaxing by the sea? Choose one of the many small, hidden swimming spots, or head to the main beach to unwind in the shade of bamboo with your favorite drink. Food and leisure are also part of the experience. In Šipanska Luka, where we’re located, you’ll find two bars, a snack bar, five restaurants, and a beach bar. In Suđurađ village, just 5 km away, there’s another bar, three more restaurants, and a hotel with a pool and restaurant open to everyone. Šipan is the perfect destination if you’re looking for unspoiled nature, clear sea, and a truly relaxing holiday. Here, time slows down — and life feels wonderfully simple.
