Shahmon is a relatively new neighborhood, considered to be the most prestigious in the city. Its construction began in the late 1990s and continues to this day. The neighborhood is divided into quarters, with each neighborhood characterized by different construction - from villas and cottages to 20-story buildings, each with its own commercial center, and different affiliation with educational institutions.The neighborhood is cut off from the rest of the city, a fact that causes its residents to rely primarily on private vehicles. In the next few years, some 1500 new housing units will be added to the neighborhoods in districts 2,11 and 6.
