DARAGAON RETREAT (Gurung Homestay) An extravaganza of traveling and the local tradition with a return of splendid experience is what has been observed by many visitors here at Gurung Homestay. Gurung family comprises of wife Radha, son Prabal and daughter Neysang and Kamala and her daughter Divya - family cousin. The homestay provides a very cosy environment in getting along and learning the daily ways of their life. It has been a decade since they have been operating the homestay here in Darap Village and sharing the village joy of life with people around the world. The surroundings is being kept very well with lots of flowering plants and gardening, a fish pond and the Cottages of Sikkimese style. The little Divya is very friendly with the guest children as she loves to play along with them around the house
Shiva Gurung-the host of Daragoan Retreat is a honest minded businessman, who started the retreat with a purpose of accommodating the people who came to SIKKIM to travel and enjoy its natural beauty. He started this retreat with a lot of passion and with a vision of building a environment such that people from far places could learn about the ancient and sacred culture of Sikkim. A very interactive and accommodates his guest very well, making them feel like they never left their home. He also has lot of knowledge about the culture, flora and fauna.
What makes daragoan preferable than other properties is that, not only the homestay but as well as the neighborhood has a lot to offer the guests, the surroundings is filled with great intrigued people, miles and miles of nature and the village being so culturally and spiritually enriched gives the visitors a space for them to heal and gain a huge perspective. Though the property being located in a village does not lessen the amount of activities that can be done around the neighborhood. The place has everything to offer good food, people, nature, cultural and stories.
