Come and have a staycation at ‘Panorama’ where the last King of Burma’s second daughter spent an idyllic life in exile from 1947 onwards. She lived here with her husband and adopted son till April 4, 1956. It is a beautiful property with a 180 degree view of the Himalayan range during the months when there is no haze. One can also see the western part of Kalimpong town with the iconic Macfarlane Church steeple and other equally iconic buildings. ‘Panorama’ is an almost 100 years old bungalow built during the British Raj. It is well maintained with polished floorboards and red oxide floors and fire places. There are three bedrooms, one has an en-suite bathroom. The two other bedrooms, have a common bathroom. There is a spacious living room and a sunny dining room. A foyer, which can be used to sit and write or read, is an extra addition. All the rooms are well furnished. There is a modern kitchen with both a gas and a wood fire cooking range housed in a separate building. There is ample parking space, an open area for barbecues and bonfire parties. ‘Panorama’ is for couples who want to spend intimate weekends or for families with young children and pets.
