Manabi-stay Matsue is a guesthouse renovated in the early Showa period. Manabi-stay Matsue is a guesthouse renovated from an old private house built in the early Showa period. The earthen floor, staircase, and fittings on the second floor have been kept in their original condition. We hope you will enjoy the history of the building and treat it with kindness. Matsue is known as a city that has inherited the culture of the tea ceremony, and at Manabi-stay Matsue, you will find a variety of tea-related accessories in each room. Although we ask that you do not touch them, as they are very fragile, we hope you will take a look at them and feel the culture of Matsue's chanoyu.

Manabi-stay Matsue is conveniently located 7 minutes (600 meters) walk from Matsue Station and 10 minutes (800 meters) walk to Lake Shinji. Lake Shinji is only a 10-minute walk away (800 meters). Nearby is a bustling area with many different restaurants ranging from izakaya (Japanese style pubs) to craft beer bars and wine bars opened by young people, where you can enjoy both the local atmosphere and food as well as the old and the new of Matsue city. A little further west, toward Teramachi and Tenjinmachi, you will find the famous Japanese tea store Nakamura Chaho and several Japanese sweets shops. Heading further west, you will reach Lake Shinji. Dusk is the best time to visit here. The beauty of the sunset over Lake Shinji will surely take your breath away. Reflect on your day as you watch the sunset and the gently swaying surface of the lake, and spend some quiet time relaxing with friends and family.
