Company information

The Owner - I was born and raised in Shizuoka and have spent my life exploring its culture, nature, and traditions. As a entrepreneur, I’ve received several awards and also work as a researcher in ecological psychology. While I’m not fluent in English, I’m always happy to help and communicate with guests. Our support staff all live in Shizuoka and know this region inside and out—from scenic drives to hidden local gems. We love introducing foreigner visitors to the side of Japan that most tourists never get to see. If you’re looking for quiet, nature, culture, or unique local tips, we’re here for you.

Property information

Yado Nishimura is a 250-year-old traditional Japanese farmhouse once home to a village headman. Built in the Edo period using local wood and traditional joinery without nails, the house preserves the craftsmanship of samurai-era builders. It's a rare opportunity to stay in an authentic kominka surrounded by tea fields and forested hills. Ideal for history lovers, architecture fans, and anime or cosplay enthusiasts, the house has even been used as a filming location for Touken Ranbu and Shogun-inspired photo shoots. Inside, you’ll find a cozy mini kitchen with a fridge, microwave, and dishes for self-catering. A full outdoor kitchen and BBQ terrace is available by reservation and for an extra fee. Like many historical Japanese homes, the bath and toilet are located in a nearby separate building. This layout lets you experience a truly timeless and peaceful slice of rural Japan.

Neighbourhood information

Our peaceful mountain village is surrounded by tea fields, forests, and rivers, offering a true escape from city life. Just a short drive away, you can cross Japan’s longest wooden bridge, Horai Bridge, or visit quiet matcha cafés known only to locals. For stunning views of Mt. Fuji, we recommend a scenic drive to Nihondaira or Fuji City. The area offers year-round seasonal beauty: cherry blossoms in spring, fireworks in summer, chestnut picking in autumn, and magical river mist in winter mornings. A nearby day-use hot spring is perfect for relaxing after exploring. Whether you're interested in nature walks, photography, or discovering Japan's hidden countryside, this region offers authentic experiences you won’t find in tourist guides. With a rental car, it's easy to explore tea plantations, historic towns, and quiet mountain roads at your own pace.
