Yakuno House was originally a farm house and it is estimated to be about 200 yeas old. Some work has been done on the house over the years to adjust to modern times. The main house is a 2 storey building with 2 bedrooms upstairs, 1 bedroom in the second building and another bedroom down stairs and spacious living area down stairs. Kitchen is very spacious and open plan with an array of electrical appliances and dishes. The bathroom is small but very cosy and practical. Just had a brand new hot water system put in so its all touch pad system to suit how hot you would like your bath. Toilet is septic tank and its situated outside the main house in the out building incorporated in with another guest room. It's old style but you wouldn't know as it is fitted with flushing mechanism and even heated seats for winter. Most of the floors are tatami mats with flooring in the kitchen and one of the upstairs bedroom. We have a western style couch living area for your comfort. There is a washing machine which also acts as a dryer. Any condiments you see in the kitchen you are welcome to use.

The Yakuno House is surrounded by mountains and rice fields. Nearest mini supermarket and petrol station is at Shimo Yakuno Train station (about 5 minutes drive). There is a very nice small sushi restaurant there also. Nearest Onsen is Yakuno Kogen Onsen about 8 minutes drive away.
