Hello, I’m Namal. Together with my family, I proudly run Namal Stay Guesthouse and enjoy welcoming guests from all over the world. Creating a memorable and comfortable experience for every guest is my passion. I love sharing the warmth, hospitality and spirit of Sri Lanka with everyone who chooses to stay with us. Before opening Namal Stay, I spent many years working as a tuk-tuk driver, which means I have excellent local knowledge of Weligama and the surrounding area. From hidden beaches to the best places to eat, surf or explore, I’m always happy to share tips and recommendations. I enjoy helping guests make the most of their stay, whether that’s arranging transport, suggesting activities, or simply bringing people together to share food, stories and good conversation. Perched on a small hill in a quiet neighbourhood, Namal Stay enjoys one of the highest rooftop viewpoints in Weligama, offering breathtaking 360-degree views across the south coast. From here, guests can take in sweeping vistas of the ocean, sandy beaches, temples, jungle and distant mountains — all from one unforgettable spot. The rooftop is a true highlight, with something to admire at every moment of the day. Wake up to golden sunrises over the bay, relax with dramatic sunsets in the evening, and enjoy the sight of local wildlife and birds gliding past in the open skies. Despite its peaceful setting, Namal Stay is ideally located for exploring the area. Weligama Beach is just 800 metres away and easily reached on foot, by bicycle or tuk-tuk. The town centre, cafés and shops are close by, while some of the South Coast’s best beaches and surf breaks are only a short ride away. Popular destinations such as Weligama Bay, Mirissa, Midigama, Kabalana and Ahangama are all nearby. Transport for guests and surfboards can be arranged at any time, and we are happy to assist with scooter or bicycle hire so you can explore the coastline at your own pace.
