Roam is based in Xewkija with a choice of two supermarkets just a few doors up and several bus stops nearby. You can park right outside for free. If you're feeling peckish, check out the pizzeria and quaint family run bakery just up the road too! Being centrally located, you can conveniently travel to any of the desirable locations on the island in just a 15 min drive. Although do not rush out of the village too soon as Xewkija has a lot to offer. The village has a population of a little over 3,000 and is the oldest on the island, remaining relatively untouched. Take a walk to admire the beautiful farmhouses, incredible architecture and charm that rings throughout the town. Roam is just a 5 min walk away is the famous Xewkija Church. Measuring at 75 meters high and 27 meters wide; it is the third-largest unsupported dome in the world, right after St Peter’s in Rome and St Paul’s Cathedral. Inside the church you can admire the beautiful artwork, vast architecture and even take a lift to the top for an incredible 360 degree view of Gozo for that perfect photo. Amazed by the picturesque view of the church? Soak it up a little longer in the beautifully converted piazza, where you can enjoy anything from coffee in the morning to fine dining restaurants in the evening. Beach lover?
