Casa de las Ballenas sits on the quiet coast road just north of Las Tunas, before La Pastora a peaceful pocket of Todos Santos where desert meets the Pacific. Mornings bring glassy light and empty beaches; afternoons carry a salty breeze. You’re 5–7 min to La Pastora (a famed surf break and wide walking beach) and about 10 min to Todos Santos Pueblo Mágico for galleries, cafés, and the town’s farm-to-table scene. Cerritos Beach (swimmable) is roughly 25–30 min; Cabo about 1 hr.
From December April, watch whales cruise offshore at sunset; fall brings clear, starry skies. Roads here are mostly unpaved drive slowly, especially after wind or rain (no 4x4 required, just caution). Turtle releases, seasonal markets, yoga, and horseback rides are nearby, yet the house stays wonderfully calm perfect for stargazing, sunrise walks, and slow mornings.
