Casa Sereno is a bright and modern vacation home in Akumal, in the heart of the Riviera Maya. Akumal is more laid back that it's more 'festive' neighbors – Playa Del Carmen to the north and Tulum to the south – but you can choose the right combination of relaxation and activity that suits you. We're close to the beach, outdoor adventures, Mexican and Mayan culture sites, cenotes, fishing, PGA golf course, and Akumal Dive shop for all of your snorkeling and scuba needs. It is a truly unforgettable experience and we're excited to share it with you! The space Casa Sereno is located in Tao Santamar, built in 2022 so it has tons of modern conveniences and high-end finishes. It's surrounded by lush vegetation of the Mayan jungle, and just across the street from the Caribbean Sea. This fun and modern condo is great for a relaxing getaway or an adventurous retreat. The main floor living space is 1000 square feet and the upstairs penthouse patio is 600 square feet. It comfortably accommodates up to six guests, and has high speed internet throughout, including the private penthouse patio, so everyone can be as connected as you want to be. The floor to ceiling glass doors offers tons of natural light, and every evening you can watch the sunset over breathtaking views of the jungle. The private penthouse patio has a gas grill as well as dining and lounge area. We utilize a rental agreement to make sure your visit is set up for success; it must be signed and returned for the reservation to be considered confirmed. We also require a security deposit credit hold, which will be returned within 7 days if no excessive cleaning is required or damage occurs. We are avid travelers and love to explore new locations around the world. We've lived in France, India, Denmark and Mexico and chose Akumal because it's such a special and unique location. We've spent a few months living at the condo so it's well-equipped. We love swimming, snorkeling, exploring Mayan and Mexican culture, cooling off in the cenotes. We are both yoga teachers and appreciate the many yoga and wellness services available in the area. We're excited to contribute to your memorable trip to Akumal and the Riviera Maya.

The condo is on a quiet street, accessed only by local residents. Beach access is just a few minutes' walk from the condo, to our beautiful beach pools. From there your steps away from a beautiful sand beach, easy swimming and snorkeling. This beach is a turtle sanctuary, and May-December you will see turtle nests and even some baby turtles being born! It's a couple minutes' drive to get to the main Akumal beach-side village, which has multiple restaurants, shops, general store and convenience stores. There are great snorkel trips and a dive shop there as well. It's also a couple minutes to the Akumal Pueblo, where more of the local residents live. There are great family-owned restaurants, fruit and vegetable markets, sports fields and medical clinic/pharmacy. Addresses in Mexico can be difficult to navigate with, so the best thing to do would be to punch in "SANTAMAR by TAO" in your Google Maps and follow the directions - this will take you right to the SANTAMAR. Upon arriving at Punta Sur make sure to drive slowly, the road is bumpy (it's a few minutes' drive). The road will continue to the right and on the right-hand side is Santamar. The first building you see on the right is Building G; our unit is in the next one, the Building F. You can park in the parking spaces along the front of the building. You will walk past a small guard room on the right, and they can help you if needed. They will ask to see a QR code verifying that you are a registered guest - this is to ensure everyone's safety. The QR code will be sent within 48 hours of check in. There's a wagon the guard can give you to help get your things up into condo. Take the left into the Building F condo structure and keep going until you find the elevator. Select 'P' to take it to the 3rd level. The condo is 305 and the key is in the lockbox.
