A UNIQUE ADVENTURE Living on the water has always been my big dream. In 2020 I embarked on an adventure and started project Surla#1. Houseboats and Tiny houses are becoming increasingly more popular, but I couldn’t find an existing design that met all my needs. After months of preparation, numerous sketches, meetings with many parties and a design development process with an architect as well naval construction engineers, the time had finally come. We started construction late October 2020 and on April 4 the following year Surla#1 went on its Maiden Voyage, fully equipped, operational and ready to become our home. We immensely enjoyed building Surla#1, our passion and fun during the development was reflected in the final result and even more by the overwhelming feedback and interest we received from the world around us. Soon it became clear to us we couldn’t keep this unique experience to ourselves. Together with my partner Judith, we founded the company Surla Group and are now professionally producing a series of Surla’s. A Surla Houseboat is a sailing summer residence. Our water villas are fully equipped, 100% ecological and self-sufficient. Luxury, comfort and respect for nature come together here. From April/May on the houseboat can be docked on open water. This houseboat (built in '2023) is fully equipped.There is a spacious living room with a couch, dining table, tv and sliding doors to the front terrace with outdoor chairs. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped with an induction cooker, fridge, oven, dishwasher, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine. There's also a table-top freezer in the utility room. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, sink and a (dry) toilet. There are 3 bedrooms on the houseboat. Two bedrooms with hotel beds (1.80 x 2.00m), especially designed for Surla Houseboats. The third bedroom has a bunk bed (0.90 x 2.00m). Via outside stairs you can go to the spacious rooftop terrace where there is a lounge set to enjoy beautifull sunrises and sunsets. Last but not least: on the back terrace is a warm outdoor shower, great after a swim. NOTE: Surla rents out several houseboats at different locations. It is possible that the floorplan of the houseboat and the interior in the photos differs from the actual houseboat. All our houseboats were built in '22/23. The houseboat is not suitable for small children. Swimming certificates are highly recommended. And that close to Amsterdam. The Surla houseboat is moored in the summer period at a beautiful spot on the Gouwzee. With a dinghy you can sail to and from the houseboat. Our host will guide you the first time. A week before arrival you will receive a digital guide with all information about your stay and tips about the area. There is plenty to discover. This location is ideal for water sports enthusiasts, nature lovers, families and peace seekers. Parties or any form of noise nuisance is absolutely not allowed.
