This lovely 2-storey home sits above Kaikoura town on the Peninsula. Majestic Seaward Kaikoura mountains are framed by native plantings, with Pacific Ocean sparkling below. Enjoy breakfast or a peaceful rest on your private garden deck, that offers supurb views of the distant hills, impressive mountains, and enormous sky and Pacific Ocean. With convenient kitchenette, plus outdoor bbq and prep area, table and bar leaner, you'll be comfortable in any weather. There are two rooms available. (Please see separate listing for Queen room). If booking one room, you will be our only guests. The bathroom is not ensuite, but very close down the hall. Each room has access to garden and views of the sea. The King room, slightly larger, has wonderful mountain views, too. Note that the amenities are the same in each room. If you book one room, no other bookings will be accepted, so the bathroom is for you, only. This home is in a short cul-de-sac, with generous on-site parking.

Dean and Lindy welcome you to this magic location, so close to all the wildlife and scenic features that make Kaikoura so special. We live upstairs, and we love to share our home with you, but we also respect your privacy. You will have private access to your room(s) downstairs, each room individually locked. Your own bathroom is down the hall. Laundry facilities are available upon request for a small extra charge.

Dover Terrace sits atop the beautiful Kaikoura Peninsula. Take a short walk to join various tracks to town, South Bay or stroll down the peninsula to the famous Seal Colony walk, beach-caravan eateries and Charli's Bar. All less than half an hour one-way by walking, or a short drive. Ask hosts about suitable tracks depending on your time and energy levels, there's much to explore. Kaikoura has all the amenities including large supermarket, small hospital, pharmacy and a range of restaurants. In 2024, Kaikoura Dark Sky Trust officially achieved International Dark Sky status. An easy 350m (6 min) walk gets you to the famous Kaikoura Lookout, great for photographers, day or night. Activities around town include Whale, Dolphin or Albatross tours; seals are plentiful and photogenic. Fishing charters, zipline, scenic flights and much more. There's plenty to see for the casual holiday shopper, too.
