Relax with family or friends at this peaceful beach getaway. Less than 2 minutes walk from this beautiful coromandel beach. Bird life, hiking, swimming, kayaking, surfing, tennis, fishing on your doorstep. This super comfy 2 bed batch is perfect all year round to unwind, with hot tub and heat pump, have a break and enjoy. The space has a few quirks, so we've shared them here (and in more detail in your arrival guide before check in) to help you plan. We have had many happy memories here and hope you do, too! It is separated from the main house by several meters. There is the water tank, a shed and a small divider between the properties and the entrances are on opposite sides so you retain your privacy throughout your stay! The hot tub is private and just off the deck which faces out to the back of the property. It is a 3 person hot tub although we usual have four people in with no issues! The hot tub is set to 39 degrees and is a lovely spot to look up at the stars on a clear night. You can see in the pictures that the kitchen is small but has essentials such as a toaster, electric hob & BBQ. The property has been in place since the 80s so there are quirks but we love it!

Whangapoua is a very special spot, you have chosen well! Whangapoua beach across the road. New Chums 30 min fun hike Luke’s Kitchen 15 mins drive Coromandel town 20 mins drive Whitianga and Lost Springs 30 minute drive. There are beach accessways right across the road. At the end of the beach there is a rope swing and rocks to explore, especially at low tide. Up a short hill to is the Opera Point walkway. It follows a path down to a lovely little beach off the harbour, it is calm and great for adults and kids alike to swim, snorkel, kayak and enjoy. You can continue around to explore more hidden beaches! If you go all the way to the end of the beach on the left you can keep going round the rocks to Wainuiototo or New Chums beach. It's about a 45 minute walk that starts over the rocks but follows a path most of the way. It's a lovely spot with pohutakawa trees leaning over the sand. Make sure you pack water, snacks, sunscreen, mosquito repellent and anything else you need. There is one local shop that sells all the essentials from food to sunscreen, alcohol and basic medications but it is small and local so comes at a premium price. They also sell gas and fuel if needed!
