The Old Confectionery is a lovingly restored heritage building in the center of Oamaru; close to the penguins, historic precinct and all shops and restaurants. It has been furnished to a very high standard with quality furniture and bedding, bespoke lighting and fully equipped laundry and kitchen facilities. Walk out of the front door and within a minute or two you can be at the beach in the harbour, walking down the historic streets of the old town or in a local cafe or restaurant. Careful attention to detail has resulted in two stunning apartments available separately or together if a group booking is required. If you like to be inspired by interior design and comfortable surroundings, come and visit us at the Old Confectionery. Your photographs will catch the interest of your friends and family. Off street parking and lock up parking for bicycles with exterior security cameras and lighting make it a relaxing, luxurious place to stay.
Welcome to our beautiful, unique building in the center of Oamaru. We have spent three years restoring this old building to high levels of modern comfort and safety. We want our guests to feel welcome and relaxed and use the building as they wish. This may be to cook a family meal or prepare to go out in our beautifully appointed bedrooms and bathrooms. Soak up the ambiance of luxurious surroundings with the convenience of all Oamaru has to offer at your fingertips.
Centrally located, you can walk out the door of our building and find all the attractions of Oamaru on your doorstep. Wander down to the local brewery for lunch and look out over the harbour. Wander down the history soaked streets of the old precinct. Pop into the local shops which offer beautiful, locally and internationally made goods. Take a short drive to a winery, walk to the whisky distillery or wander round natural landmarks like the Elephant Rocks or Moeraki Boulders. There are many local producers in the area - so you can take your pick at the Farmers Market located 200m away that opens every Sunday. There are plenty of natural attractions too, go seal and penguin spotting in the harbour or walk the Coastal Track for a breath of fresh air. Wherever your interests lie, Oamaru has plenty to offer.
