Newly opened and refurbished in October 2020, Wanderlust NZ is a waterfront hostel located in a historical building in downtown Tauranga. It features a large balcony area overlooking the harbor and free high-speed unlimited throughout.
Among the facilities at this property are 2 spacious, shared kitchens overlooking the water and a separate shared lounge area, and a specialized private group area. We have upmarket private rooms with ensuites to shared dorms with or without ensuites with eco-friendly bedding and tastefully decorated. This hostel has sustainability at it’s core.
There are a variety of bars and cafes located a short walk from the hostel. The bus station is a 1-minute walk from Wanderlust NZ, and the Visitor Information Center is located next door. The nearest airport is Tauranga Airport, 3.1 mi from Wanderlust NZ.
There is no parking onsite but plenty of near parking.

Must-know information for guests at this property
For bookings of 6 or more guests, we require a 50% nonrefundable deposit to confirm booking + a cleaning fee of $10/ pers will be added.
For group of 4 or more guests, you can contact us first to confirm the allocation of the rooms which fit together before making reservation.
A full nonrefundable prepayment is required for bookings over bank holiday weekends and with large festivals in town such as One Love, Bay Dreams and Jazz Festival.
Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.
Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian.
