Our Madeira was established in 2009 by Linda & Ricardo Dias. We have both worked in tourism all our lives, the great majority of which in Madeira, where we live (and where Ricardo hails from). We know how important it is to find the right holiday home for your holiday, and searching through the many websites can be exhausting, time-consuming, and confusing. And of course, you want to make sure you are dealing with a dependable company. Our commitment is to provide a unique, personal service, using our in-depth knowledge of Madeira (our island home) and of all the villas and apartments we feature, to assist you in making the right holiday rental choice. For some of the properties, we just handle the reservations on the owner's behalf, but for others, we take care of the cleaning and maintenance, and we will be there to greet you on arrival at the villa. All the properties are known to us personally. Between us, we have over 60 years of experience in tourism, so we like to think we know what we’re doing! Our wonderful and dedicated team also come from many different areas of Tourism and bring with them a wealth of knowledge and customer care. SISTER PROPERTY DO VILLA DO MAR I, VILLA DO MAR II AND VILLA DO MAR III This very private, cosy stone cottage located just above what is virtually a private beach for the few neighbouring properties, was beautifully converted from an old fisherman's cottage that is believed to be the first dwelling on this fajã (a flat strip of land at the foot of a cliff). The whole cottage is open plan. The comfortable sitting area is a veritable balcony over the beach and sea and is separated from the bedroom area by two doors that open the full width of the cottage, allowing you to wake up to that breath-taking view. Further back is the modern shower room and the fully equipped kitchen that still features the original bread oven. Outside is a very private yard with overflowing bougainvillea, which features an outdoor dining table and a couple of sunbeds under a private curtained canopy, and again benefits from that spectacular sea-view. A lovely little beach hut is located right on the rocky beach 30 metres below, and shared by the three Villas do Mar. Access is via a pathway with steps that leads from the level of the Villas do Mar down to the beach.

Neighbourhood information

A few minutes by car will take you to the resort town of Calheta, which, with its man-made golden beaches, is popular with tourists and locals alike. There is a beautiful marina and a good choice of bars and restaurants. There are a handful of boutique shops and a good supermarket. Calheta is famous for producing the best white rum ‘Aguardente’, a special ingredient of the typical Madeiran drink ‘Poncha’. If you are interested in knowing how the white rum is made, we recommend a tour of the ‘Engenho da Calheta’ the rum distillery where you can wander around and sample the produce. Centro das Artes Casa da Mudas is a new centre located at the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea and was built to host superb art exhibitions, musical performances and other events. Madeira is a paradise for those who enjoy walking and hiking, and Arco da Calheta is ideally situated, having easy access to the road network and most places on the island. Within 15 minutes are the beaches at Ponta do Sol and Ribeira Brava, the esplanades at the surfing paradises of Jardim do Mar and Paul do Mar, the laurisilva forest of Madeira and the many walks in Paul da Serra (1500 meters).
