Inspired by the neighborhood and by the jewish traditions of Castelo de Vide, the Casa da Judiaria has three apartments, named Apartamento do Sapateiro (Cobbler's Appartment), Apartamento do Alfaiate (Tailor's Apartment) and Apartamento do Físico (Physicist Apartment), in honour to the jewish population that lived in this quarter some centuries ago, and which dedicated, among others, to these two craftworks. The Casa da Judiaria is located one the heart of the historical village of Castelo de Vide, in his jewish quarter, about 100mt from the Synagogue and 200mt from the castle, on a pedestrian street. The apartments have free wi-fi and amazing views over the Parque Natural da Serra de São Mamede. Each apartment has a kitchenette full equipped, with oven-microwave, hob, fridge, coffee machine, toaster and kettle. The apartments also have a leaving room with a sofa and a television, a bathroom with shower and hair-dryer. The Apartamento do Sapateiro (apartment of the cobbler) has two rooms. On the other hand, the Apartamento do Alfaiate (the tailor’s apartment) has a room and a leaving room with sofa-bed.

Welcome to Casa da Judiara and to Castelo de Vide! I hope to make you feel like you are at home and share with you all the stories and curiosities about Castelo de Vide. I'm from Castelo de Vide and after some years living outside, I recently came back, looking for the Alentejo's tranquility.

The Casa da Judiaria is on the historical center, in the jewish quarter and close by to the main historical/touristic points (Synagogue, Castle and Fonte da Vila). Outside the historical center, you can visit the Barragem da Póvoa e Meadas, to go for a swim or for a walk and several pre-historic monuments, as the Menir da Meada or Anta dos Pombais. You can also go to Ermida de Nossa Senhora da Penha, to enjoy the views over Castelo de Vide and over the region. The village of Marvão is about 10km, where you can check the atonishing views over the area, visit the Castle, the roman city of Ammaia, the museum of Marvão or Portagem. Castelo de Vide and the villages and city around are great for the nature lovers, namely for who likes birdwatching and trekking (there are a lot of trekking trails). At about 20-30minutes by car, you can also visit some of the waterfalls of the Serra de São Mamede, as the Cascata de São Julião or Cascata da Cabroeira.
