Welcome to Bella Vista, a private historic estate on Sintra’s legendary palace road, once home to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and his son Adrian. Set on four hectares overlooking the Atlantic, the estate is bathed in golden southwest light, the origin of its name, Bella Vista. In the early 20th century, it was a discreet gathering place for artists, writers, and international figures, drawn here by Sintra’s beauty and quiet inspiration. Today, Bella Vista opens selectively to guests seeking serenity, nature, and unhurried stays. The estate is divided into two distinct areas: The Palacio and The Villas, together offering 14 refined suites. Comforts include heated floors, fireplaces, Sonos sound systems, high-speed internet, pools, gardens, and an animal farm with organic produce. Guests staying at The Villas enjoy access to the villa gardens and a non-heated pool. Guests of The Palacio have access to its private grounds and heated pool; this area is reserved for adults only. Bella Vista is a family-owned estate, shared with care and respect. There is no restaurant or bar on site, instead, guests find space, silence, and the rare luxury of time.
