180 degrees of breathtaking views of the Atlantic (at about 200 meters above sea level), a lot of green everywhere and no neighbors in sight: if you’re looking for a relaxing vacation in a traditional Azorean stone cottage placed in a magical landscape, this is the place for you. Casas do Horizonte is a traditional compound of two homes (the main farm house and a converted millhouse) set in 2 acres of gardens and wooded areas. The main house is an authentic Azorean stone cottage, renovated to modern standards. It has a comfortable living/dining room, a well equipped open kitchen, a large bedroom and a spacious bathroom. Other amenities are cable TV, high speed internet, dishwasher, washing machine. You will also be able to enjoy a large dining table on a veranda and a great outdoor deck with sofa and chairs. There are also expansive gardens with local plants and lots of fruit trees. Parking is easy. The two houses on the property are detached and maintain a great deal of privacy, due to their positionings. If you need more space and are interested in renting the whole thing (at an additional cost), don't hesitate to ask.

Casas do Horizonte is located in the parish of Ribeiras (halfway between the historical town of Lajes do Pico and the picturesque village of Calheta de Nesquim). There’s a great natural pool and swimming spot nearby, Aguada. In no more than a 10-min drive, you reach several swimming spots in Calheta, Santa Cruz or Lajes, as well as a few official hiking trails. Among the best restaurants nearby are Mar Sushi Terrace, Ponta da Ilha, Faia and several options in Lajes. The town of Lajes, the oldest in Pico, is also the best place for whale watching tours. But you might be able to see a whale or two from the house. ;)
