Located in an old plum orchard, at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains at an altitude of about 600 meters, this cottage allows you to experience Romanian rural life. It is located in the small village of Melicesti, Prahova, on a cul-de-sac in a hilly area on enclosed private estate. The cottage is easily accessible via a paved walkway at approx. 120 meters. off the public road. The owners also live on the estate within a 5-minute walk. Ideal for 2 people (upstairs bedroom 15 m2 with double bed 180x200 cm); If necessary, 2 extra beds available in the living room. Bathroom with shower (mixer tap), toilet, sink, electric heating. The spacious living room/kitchen (35 m2) is equipped with a wood stove and electric heating, well-equipped kitchen (refrigerator, electric combi oven, hob, toaster, kettle, cutlery and crockery), sink, hot & cold running water, dining table with chairs, 2 person sitting/sofa bed (90x200cm & 90x190cm), coffee table, relax chairs. Wifi available.

We are an outdoor-life & nature loving couple living in Melicesti, Romania, at the foot slopes of the Carpathian Mountains. Our property consists of some hectares of forest, plum orchards, a natural pond, and a few buildings of which 2 are rented out. Income is used to maintain the property. We love the silence of nature, good food, and a nice conversation with friendly people.

Enjoy the outdoors on the spacious and raised outdoor terrace (6 x 4 meters), or in the hammock or private water 'tub'. The estate has a very high biodiversity. The flora and fauna lover will discover the species-rich grassland with an abundance of flowers (including rare orchids) and have a chance to meet squirrels, roe deer, badgers and foxes. The large natural pond is home to frogs, toads, salamanders, and grass snakes. The European Pond Turtle and the Fire Salamander are also residents on the estate. The Prahova region is also home to the Brown Bear. If well prepared, you can make short or longer hikes and mountain biking. There are many day trips to make in the region (Sinaia Peles Castle, Dracula Castle, Busteni mountains, imposing Slanic salt mine, and in winter the ski resorts of Sinaia, Busteni, Azuga and Brasov). Everyone is welcome, but there are no special provisions for children and people with disabilities.
