In the Brkinka apartments, we, Manuela and Aljoša and family will be your hosts. We decided to restore part of an old homestead and convert it into apartments. We wanted to create a place, an oasis of peace, where people can calm down, relax and consume a piece of nature. The location is perfect for those who want peace and quiet, as well as for those who want an active vacation. The apartments are arranged at Kaparjeva Domačija. It is surrounded by beautiful forests and meadows that stretch across a picturesque hilly area.

Brkini are a special world. The hilly Brkini are simply beautiful, in their remoteness they seem dreamy, and Brkin life is slowed down. Already the first impression promises an ideal environment for relaxation in pristine nature. When the visitor starts to do a little research, he can discover wonderful peculiarities at every turn. The village of Barka is a clustered village that lies above the Vremska dolina at an altitude of around 614 m. This small village is one of the few in Slovenia where you become one with nature. According to stories, the name of the village came about when the inhabitants of Barka walked to mass in Vreme. When they got to the river, they couldn't cross the river because there was no bridge, so they built a boat with which they were transported to the other side of the river. The inhabitants of Vrem always started shouting: "Look, Barčani are coming!" And that's how the name Barčani stuck to them, and their village became Barka.
