Open Kitchen is a dream project for the Por family to invite guests, especially city people to enjoy living in the countryside to have their hands on in producing their own food, growing their own vegetables and rice in the season. Open Kitchen also reserve small plot of land where guests can learn to produce their own vegetables or plant tree or grow rice. Located in Ban Nang Lae Village, 15 km north of Chiang Rai city, the Open Kitchen is less than 10 minutes to Chiang Rai International Airport, across street from Black House as well as accessible to Shopping Mall like Big C and Makro. The location is well suited to be away from city yet not away from conveniences such as high speed wifi, access to all shopping mall, airport, and bus to anywhere in Chiang Rai. The Open Kitchen is a house where guest have their own compartment (2 rooms and 1 bathroom), fully equipped with facilities for a comfortable stay such as air conditioning, high speed wifi, smart TV for movie and entertainment, etc. Guest can also access to kitchen for their own cooking, laundry, and house facilities just like your own house in Chiang Ra.

Nok and family are farmers but have been growing potato and rice for many years. The family now moves away from growing cash crop but would like to grow fruits and vegetables and just sufficient rice for the family. We grow what we want to eat and just enough to eat and share to our neighbors whatever surplus from our needs. The land has been now allocated for vegetables and fruits, Small ortion for growing rice. The family believes that this is the way we will reduce our reliance from processed food and vegetables where we don't know how clean it was. As it is said, we just wanted to have our like minded guest to join our mission.

About neighborhood Countryside - best opportunity to interact, meet and learn from locals. However, it is not far from city, good hospital, and tourist attraction. You can always walk a few minutes to get access to public bus and market. We have a free bike that will allow you to explore anywhere in Chiang Rai. In the middle of rice field and no other tourists, Open Kitchen will give you a true relaxed atmosphere where you can either opt to relax or you can login the high speed wifi to work online from the small corner of the world.
