This is an example of a beautiful Thai Countryside Bed and Breakfast with European (British and American) themes, a cordial hostess and omnipresent Concierge. Teak wood is omnipresent on the site and is an example of local Thai architecture but with modern conveniences for the foreign traveler. Further, the property is actually as functional sawmill servicing the local area as well as an agricultural site with Coconut and fish production (from the lake). Although remote, this locale is a relaxing and peaceful experience for the traveler who wants to live and vacation amongst the Thai people.
My primary focus is on Enjoyment of Life: Sustainable Living, local and authentic Thai cuisine, hiking, art, sailing and literature - my LinkedIn profile (https://www.linkedin.com/in/pneuhausen/) goes into greater detail about my overall work and life experience. In my working career, I have often worked as a Business Development Manager (BDM) and have often been the first point of contact with new potential clients; the clients will also usually have business needs when they are seeking information on the products and services the company provides. A Southern California Native, I have lived and worked in Japan (Nagoya-Shi), visited South Korea, as well as ventured across the North America (Canada, United States and Mexico). My heart is certainly in the Pacific Rim and all the lands that its' waters touch...
The Tha Rong Subdistrict is Serene, quiet - locals are friendly and open to interaction with foreign travelers. Ban Map Samo is actually in the wood heartland of Thailand, away from city centers like Bangkok but with all of the modern accommodations. If you're into Mountain Biking, local and authentic Thai cuisine, hiking, art, and literature then this is a great Bohemian enclave! Further, there is a significant ex-pat community in the area so you will not likely feel "alone" - many Thai women are married to Belgian, Australian, and American men who decided to settle in the area.
