“非常喜歡三和大旅社的環境，老宅改建，裡面擺放的老物件、時鐘都是老闆用鈔能力蒐集來的，十分乾淨、洗澡時水夠力，我們房間的浴室牆壁還有創意小壁畫，非常童趣。地點鄰近彰化火車站，阿璋肉圓、瑪莉露仙草、愛治文具房都步行可達，離八卦山近，地理位置很方便。此行共四個家庭一同出遊，每層樓的中間都有交誼廳、大人聚會聊天、孩子玩桌遊，謝謝老闆創建這個環境，讓我們幾位老友相聚在此創造新的回憶。”

“非常喜歡旅社的裝潢設計，老闆娘就像是許久未見的朋友般那樣親切的招待我們，熱情得不得了～服務也非常棒，裝潢設施超喜歡，在旅社內拍了很多張照片，每一角落都看的到老闆娘的用心設計。整體來講非常棒，硬要萬中選一挑剔的話那就是早餐可以再更好，因為是家庭旅遊所以有11歲左右的小朋友，早餐很營養，但喝的很少，建議可以加上牛奶或豆漿的選項，方便小孩飲用之外也可以讓大人加入濾掛咖啡變拿鐵，但不得不說堅果醬真是美味極了！”

“運氣超好找到彰化這間民宿，老闆娘好可愛人超級好～不管是民宿外到內，都可以感覺得出來裝潢、擺設的用心，我們這群朋友私心最喜歡房間裡面浴室的磁磚🤣🤣當初就是被浴室照片吸引！我覺得大部分的人住宿應該都很在意浴室，這間不只乾淨，用花磚來設計浴室覺得好復古可愛，喜歡！！空間也非常舒服，離火車站也超近，真的拜託大家來彰化可以體驗這間民宿，我覺得非~~常值得！BTW早餐也很好吃唷～”

“改裝後的三和旅社仍保有原始老物件，新舊交錯卻和諧的氛圍。垂落在四樓露臺的燈串，點亮整棟建築和小西街口，在近黃昏的景色溫暖又美麗，整體很推薦。房間內的設備齊全，床跟被子都很好睡，衛浴蓮蓬頭有多種花灑模式可以控制。提供的沐浴乳/洗髮乳在瓶身未以英文或中文標示，而是改以簡單明瞭的手繪大佛沐浴圖案，令人會心一笑，之後再回訪彰化時還是會預訂”

三和大旅社隱身在彰化火車站前的小西街區內。鑲嵌在青灰色石板牆上的白色圓窗一路蜿蜒向上，形成這棟五層樓建築的立面特色。圓窗別緻前衛，但施作費工，顯露建築設計者的巧思。當代的商品房多半缺乏動機去講究細節，但早期的老房子不同。臺灣戰後二十年，當時的人可能還有自己挽起衣袖、砌磚蓋房的經驗，而三和大旅社的存在就見證了這個年代。那時是1968年，原本三和所在位置還是小西街的蘇家祖厝，家主是蘇泉。當時彰化火車站前區域布市繁盛，南來北往的批貨商帶動旅宿業發展。蘇泉長女蘇滿、二子蘇文龍和四子蘇文章於是共同出資，改建老厝為現代旅館，並取三人合資建造且須和氣共同經營之意，命名旅館為「三和」。這當中，生於1924年的蘇文龍受日治時期建築教育，包辦了旅館的設計監工。蘇文龍與蘇文章兩人的妻子，以及兩對夫婦的兒子們，也出入工地，除了為工人準備伙食、挑水泥，還想方設法蒐集物料、節省開支。於是，三和使用的部分紅磚，其實取自鄰近正巧拆除中的「醉香」酒家。簡言之，在物力維艱的時代，三和的興建可謂全家總動員，自己幫自己蓋房子。這表示興建者會傾全力保留任何一分可繼續使用的材料，不願浪費，蓋房子時也絕對用料札實，特別用心。我(撰文者)得知這些細節，是在2025年年初，已經是三和面世近60年之後。三和的白底紅字招牌仍舊醒目，彷彿歲月如昔。不過，此時的三和其實已經自蘇家交付給了下一任主人。新任屋主是2022年買下三和的阿敏姐，她特意保留醒目的紅白招牌，讓它重現光彩：壓克力招牌看似平凡，上頭的「三和」其實是以兩層浮雕刻出的凸體字，做工繁複，如今已難找到做得出來的廠家。 2022年決定將三和賣給阿敏的最大推手，是蘇文龍的次子蘇英孝。他表示，自己在看到阿敏的企劃後，幾乎是立刻決定要將父親設計的旅館賣給她。事實證明，蘇英孝的眼光沒有錯。買下三和的阿敏積極投入修繕，一面與包括蘇英孝在內的蘇氏家族成員保持聯繫，隨時請益。2024年底，三和重新開始營業。2025年初，蘇英孝夫婦在阿敏邀請下從臺北遠道而來，真真正正返「家」住一晚。我因此見證了一個難能可貴的場合：前任屋主與現任屋主齊聚一堂，分享他們對同一棟房子的記憶、經驗，與如今見證老屋邁向新篇章的感受。三和的過去並非總是光輝燦爛，但也正因此，我們能從中思索人該與房屋建立怎樣的關係才是好的呢？當然，關係不會只有一種。房子之於人通常既是一筆財產、棲身之所，也是跨越時空、交錯在集體與個人之間的物質和象徵傳承。三和大旅社的經驗，特別適合讓我們窺見不同層次之間的往復交錯。
