Company information

The 1795 Acorn Inn Bed and Breakfast is a reflection of me, your owner & Innkeeper. A lovely, elderly guest, George, once told me, "You are the Acorn Inn." I hadn't thought about it that way before. But, he was right. I took over an existing Inn and wanted to make it mine. I kept the lovely antiques and started adding more contemporary and comfortable furnishings and decor. I sprinkled in my personal beloved family heirlooms, a reflection of my childhood and my life in Hong Kong. And, I continue to keep the decor and furnishing fresh, constantly updating when possible. In my previous life, I was an Automotive Advertising Executive, responsible for Mazda National Advertising and prior to that Lexus. I decide to leave LA and my career to become an Innkeeper. I wanted to shake up my life and challenge myself. I certainly shook things up and 14 years later continue to be challenged. If I am not fixing breakfast or food shopping, you will find me most of the time on the grounds or in my owners quarters above the barn. I love the Finger Lakes. I cycle, taste wine, hike, attend concerts, take photographs, cross country ski, explore and constantly am aware of the beauty that surrounds me.

Property information

The 1795 Acorn Inn is a AAA Four Diamond Bed and Breakfast for the past 25 consecutive years. Along with that distinction comes a quality of surrounding and high level of service. We serve a wonderful full breakfast every morning at 9:00 and can, with advance notice, amend our menu to accommodate most any dietary restrictions. Our rooms are comfortable, some well sized and most everyone is impressed by the size of our private bathrooms. While we are located just a few easy miles from Canandaigua, our peaceful, lush gardens are certainly memorable and unlike most Bed and Breakfast grounds. The shade of our great maple and Bradford Pear easily keep the gardens cool in the heat of the summer. Two ponds. Various outdoor seating arrangements. The relaxing sound of our fountain. All make our grounds the perfect setting in which to enjoy a glass of local wine acquired while wine tasting in the Finger Lakes and even some local cheese. Our outdoor, private hot tub is also a must during cool summer evenings or chilly winter nights after a day of skiing. No matter the season, the 1795 Acorn Inn will take care of you. Please note, pets are only allowed in our Barn Suite with prior approval.

Neighbourhood information

We are in the quiet little town of Bristol, NY. Located only seven miles from Canandaigua along country roads. It's peaceful here. No downtown traffic, congestion or unpleasant noise. A quite neighborhood with a gas station and convenience shop, library and town hall. There is a park around the corner which is perfect for an evening stroll. The sounds you hear may be a neighbors mowing their lawns, kids playing in the back yard, or music being softly played outside. There are almost always birds chirping or squirrels chattering. And then there is the sound of water gently flowing through our fountain. The smell of a delicious BBQ or a bon fire may travel through the air along with fragrant lilacs and peonies. There is a park around the corner which is perfect for an evening stroll. A lush, green country setting perfect for relaxing and sightseeing. A neighborhood you can easily call home... at least for a few days.
