This is a beautiful bed and breakfast, hosted by the owners in the historic town of Appomattox. The house is lovely, a beautifully renovated home in the vernacular of the area in the 1800s. The food was excellent as one of the owners is an...

An authentic period B&B. Outfitted as it would have been in the late 1800's but modern facilities (e.g. bathroom). Talia was super friendly and helped with hints of what to do around the area (since the Appomattox Court House complex was closed...

The Babcock House is a restored, turn of the century inn, dating back to 1884. The inn features five bedrooms and one suite, all furnished with period antiques. All the rooms have private baths, cable television and free wifi. Our inn has central heat and air conditioning to insure your comfort. Our parlor is full of books, board games and instruments to enjoy next to the fireplace. The porches are great places to take in the small town atmosphere and sip a tasty beverage. Enjoy a full breakfast every morning of your stay, including fresh fruit, the chef’s entree selection, juice and steaming coffee, tea or cocoa. Our on-site restaurant offers elevated southern fare for lunch and supper with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients. Indulge in homemade desserts and house-crafted cocktails as well as Virginia wines and beers.
Charles, Talia and Remington have relocated to Appomattox from Hagerstown, MD. They welcomed Euan as their newest addition in December of 2017. Charles has been working in professional kitchens since he was twelve and has since held every position that restaurants have to offer. Sunny days always draw him to the golf course. Talia left a job in banking to better use her talents in hospitality at the Babcock House. She enjoys reading and crochet. They have two sons and hope to find Appomattox an enriching place in which to raise them. Remy has taken to inn-keeping like a natural, always excited to meet new people and shaking hands when he meets them. For such a young man, he already shows he has hospitality running through his veins. For his full story, read Innkeeping by Remington.
For over 150 years, Appomattox has held the significance of being known as the place where our nation reunited in April of 1865. The Campaign, after which General Robert E. Lee surrendered the Army of Northern Virginia to General Ulysses S. Grant, effectively ended the American Civil War. Today, you can tour the village of Appomattox Court House, preserved as a National Historical Park, and view relics of the War at the American Civil War Museum just down the road. While you are in town, uncover the secrets that Appomattox has to offer, from our Broadway-style outdoor theater to our sparkling lakes and hiking and biking trails. Unwind on the golf course or browse our charming Main Street shops. Whatever your interests, there is something to experience in Appomattox.
