A converted thatch dining room has now become an adorable getaway for couples wanting a tranquil setting in Clarens - perfect for anniversaries, honeymoons or just a few days off in our heavenly corner of the country. The cottage consists of everything a couple could need, including a fireplace, a fully stocked little kitchenette and, this is the piece de resistance, an extra-length Tempurpedic memory foam mattress for the most comfortable sleep you will ever have! You will have a large patio with barbecue facilities and a view of our beautiful garden and mountain. Expect our cats, dogs and chicken to treat you as their own. The town square is 800 m away and there are also very popular hiking trails nearby.
I have inherited this property from my parents who fell in love with this beautiful town more than 30 years ago. It is my pride and joy and I'd like to welcome you to fall in love with it too. I live alone here with my three cats, three dogs and one bantam hen.
The neighbourhood of "The Swartland" (named so because of our black soil) is on the north side of Clarens and is highly regarded for its safety and serenity. The plant and bird-life is phenomenal. Don't be surprised if you see a diukertjie (small buck) or wild hares at night! In town you will find the following places to eat: Clarens Breweries, Treat*, Clementines*, The Post House, The Highlander, Artist's Café, The Square, Korporasie **, The Grouse **, Amigos** (*highly recommended, ** live music) We also have two supermarkets (Spa and Antsh), bottle stores, a hardware store, some great coffee suppliers and plenty shops for gifts and souvenirs.
