Property information

The off-the-grid farm is located 26 km from Montagu and offers guests a wide range of activities including fishing, swimming, and mountain trails. Two-bedroom cottage - Giant (wheelchair friendly), Two-bedroom cottages - Brown-hooded and Pied Cottages are located about 1km down the valley from the main farm. These eco-friendly cottages were built in 2019 using natural building materials and techniques and have a composting toilet and use gas for water heating and cooking. These three are unfortunately not pet-friendly. There is a communal boma area which is ideal for groups. One-bedroom house - Malachite Cottage (pet-friendly) is a charming two-sleeper stone cottage adjacent to the main farm house with its own private enclosed garden.

Neighbourhood information

The Farm is the second last in a secluded valley (11km on tar and 14km on gravel) with no traffic apart from the last neighbours. Here you can truly relax and unwind in a tranquil environment far from the everyday hustle and bustle. The surrounding mountains offer great hiking (demarcated routes include 'leopard trail' and 'rock pool trail'), mountain biking (bring your own bikes) and typical Karoo and Cape birding. There are also kloofs with plenty of fabulous rock pools to cool off in. The two small farm dams available for fishing (season/rainfall dependent), including: rainbow trout (fly-fishing only) (per kg), grass carp (C&R) and mozambique tilapia (C&R). OTHER: Fresh rainbow trout products (fresh whole trout, hot smoked whole trout , smoked trout pate, smoked and un-smoked gravlax (please enquire/order before arrival), as well as 'health' bread and seasonal preserves are sold on site.
