The property burnt down in the beginning of 2014 and was rebuilt into a modern open style house with tons of light flowing into the house. (Designed by SALT architects.) The owners wanted the stay to be an unique experience. The house is furnished for comfort; an lot of effort was put into the decoration and the house has wonderful peaceful holiday feel. Here you can kick out your shoes and relax. The house has a perfect location in the central Drakensburg. In front of the houses a river flows and at the back one finds a beautiful lake where you can enjoy canoeing. If laundry need to be done, Lindiwe will use the machine and share R60 per bundle.
We live in Bethlehem in the Free State and when we discovered this jewel in the Central Drakensberg, we decided to share it with people around the world. We pride ourselves on the good style and comfort of the house.
The kitchen is fully equipped with beautiful crockery, but if you want to wander and eat somewhere, here is a few places to go and enjoy, Light meals and fresh baked bread and cakes can be enjoyed at the Valley Bakery,6.5km from the gate of the Drakensberg Boys Choir, to your left. There is a good restaurant and quaint shops at Thokoziza (18 km from the gate)in the Drakensberg. A restaurant that serves light meals and waffles, and sells candles and carpets, the Waffle Hut, (21km to your left) Beautiful scenic walks can be done in the Monks Cowl National Park, 8 km to your right from the gate. The walks can be booked at the park and the cost R30 per person.1 km from the house there is a supermarket where necessities can be bought and the Camping area near the shop also has a restaurant next to the small lake. There is a chocolate shop which stocks local hand made chocolates, 5 km from the gate to your left. Scrumpy Jack stocks raw honey and a honey cheese cake, which should definitely be tasted. At Dragon"s Peak Caravan Park, 1 km from the house, you can book for horse riding, absailing, and paintball and bird of pray show. 2 golf courses available in the Drakensberg. At Farm Friends one finds a bistro, coffee shop and gift shop as well as " Berg Air" to book helicopter flights.
