This place really exceeded my expectations
The rooms were clean and quite spacious. The stairs were a bit creeky, but for me added to the experience of staying at a 150 year old hotel. Staff were really nice! Strongly recommend to solo travelers who are used to shared bathrooms!

The host and hostess were very accommodating and the breakfast was amazing. The meals, prepared by the host who is also a chef, were delicious and the portions were very generous. It's an exceptional area for hiking and cycling in a beautiful setting.

Very close to bus stop and boat stop, room was well maintained and very comfortable, the view from our room wasn’t exactly perfect but it was lovely. They have their own restaurant in the same building and it could help you to have lunch and dinner because most of restaurants are closed around 7pm. Especially the breakfast was amazing, you can have plenty of choices and nice coffee.

The family Grampelhuber were wonderful hosts. Mom, Dad, two sons, two daughter (in law), and two grandchildren, along with a fine and attentive staff. The food, both breakfast and dinner, was outstanding. Music filled the house. We will long look on our Austrian visit to Bad Goisern and Steegwirt fondly.

They let me check in early in the morning.
The bus and train stops for Hallstatt are within 5 minutes walking distance.
