We liked being in the beautiful town of Penafiel to visit our relatives. I liked the hotel, pool and staff. It was interesting that different football teams came to stay. Being from the UK it was good that we had parking available too.

There are not enough words to describe how wonderful this little villa near the nicest beach on the river is! Nor to describe the host! August is hot and what better place to be than a few hundred feet from the beautiful sandy river beach, that you get to by walking across a private garden where you can eat outside and listen to the birds. Pedro was amazing as a host. He was always available to ask questions translate things with his perfect English (he too had lived in London for many years). My partner and I have been nomads for 7 years living mostly in airbnbs in many countries - this was probably one of our top 3!

We had the most wonderful suite for our 3 night stay - spacious and beautifully furnished with lots of little extras. And a magnificent view of the Douro River from our room and private, tree shaded patio with a little pool to cool off in. We had picnic baskets delivered to our room for dinner and were happy to spend time in the beautiful space.

Absolutely beautiful, comfortable, with a lot of space in the garden to explore. The facility had everything we needed, also the staff was very attentive and nice. The breakfast was also amazing with a lot of options (not a buffet, but more than enough). Amazing to spend the weekend and relax.
