The location is stunning, and the renovation has been done with incredible taste and attention to detail. What truly made the experience exceptional was the warmth and care of the staff — they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. A special touch that stood out: they had dog treats and a bowl of water waiting for us upon arrival. That was a first, and it meant a lot. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The rooms at the hotel are fitted with a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a safety deposit box. With a private bathroom fitted with a shower and a hairdryer, rooms at Château La Comtesse de Loire & Spa also boast free WiFi, while certain rooms come with a city view. The units have a wardrobe. The chateau is beautiful, photos do not do it justice. It is more impressive in real life. The building, the staircase, the grounds, all are beautiful. The rooms are very spacious. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. An atmosphere of calm prevails throughout. Old beautiful with modern amenities such as a reliable lift and efficient air conditioning and we were there on some very hot days. The parking is secure behind a security gate right next to the chateau. You can have breakfast outside in the beautiful grounds which is a lovely start to the day. It is a 12 minute walk at a slow pace as it was so hot into the old town of Samaur which was also perfect. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Véronique and Olivier are the perfect hosts. Their cooking is excellent, using ingredients locally sourced, or direct from their vegetable plot. We visited some delightful places following their recommendations, finishing the days with a dip in the pool and an aperitif in the garden. We look forward to another visit.
