They have a precious house in a privileged location with amazing facilities. They were keen to help with anything we needed and were proactive on helping us with our travel plans. The food is also something worth mentioning, they cook delicious meals with locally produced products.

This is a fantastic little hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The downstairs area is beautiful with drinks available free of charge at all times, and board games to sit and play. We also used the private bath which was lovely. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The shower was good and there was a little heater in the bathroom as well as a bigger one in the bedroom so you could get everywhere cosy. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room was very good value for money. It was a short walk to the historic area and the station is about 10 mins walk. There are cafes and restaurants very close to the hotel. We would defiantly stay here again.

A wonderfully appointed apartment with everything (and more) we could have needed. Beautifully decorated, in the heart of the city, easy walking distance from the train station, the temples, the festivals, near all kinds of restaurants, cafes, just a wonderful location.

Auberge Hidanomori is heropend na renovatie in 2022 en ligt in rustige heuvels, op 10 minuten met de pendeldienst van het JR-station Takayama. Everything was extraordinarily well handled. Dinner and breakfast were phenomenal. The staff was extremely friendly and spoke good english. There is an impressive wine collection and a very knowlegeable owner to cater to your tastes during dinner. The surrounding area is very calm and close to the forest for some serene walking in the morning. Probably the best place i have stayed in my month of traveling in Japan.
