We booked the room with a private onsen for our honeymoon. We arrived with our rental car and were greeted by the valet whom parked our car. We were then seated to a separate table where a lady (who I assumed is the manager) talked a bit of English and explained the rules (onsens) and times (breakfast and dinner). She then walked us through our room (no elevators btw). The room was a beautiful traditional Japanese Ryokan. It is right next to the flowing river. I wouldn't recommend opening the window though due to the insects. The bathroom is very nice and the shower is outdoors next to the private onsen. The beds on the tatami will be set up for you while you are having dinner. The dinners and breakfasts were delicious and yes very exotic (horse/deer sashimi, boar soup and tiny deep fried crabs). The flavours and portions were abundant. The lovely and friendly lady that served us for dinner explained everything very well and she was a happy personality. Overall, I loved the whole traditional experience and felt very relaxed throughout the stay. Definitely recommend if you are coming here to unwind and eat delicious food.

Every need was addressed, they even left us a fresh apple juice in the fridge and a welcome note. Rooms were huge and the beds were really comfortable. The kids enjoyed playing with the toys 🧸 and to jump on the small trampoline outside.

The complimentary drinks were all delicious, and the quality of the meat and vegetables was top-notch. The ravioli and sausages for breakfast were also exquisite. Lounge: We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the interior and the art displayed. The books and photographs provided great conversation starters, and the alcohol flowed, making for a delightful time. Sky Spa: The atmosphere of the open-air jacuzzi was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed the view.

The garden was beautiful and extremely well maintained. The room was comfy, and the outside hot spring was well presented. The food was very nice and they accommodated our specific dietary requirements. Dogs were very friendly and I enjoyed brushing them. Overall, very nice accommodation!!

Located within a 5-minute walk from JR Takasaki Train Station, Hotel 1-2-3 Takasaki offers accommodations with free wired internet access. Massages can be requested for an extra cost and guests can also relax in the spacious public baths. There was Ladies only floor with security door. I felt safe and comfortable. It was very near from the train station. The breakfast was nice too.

We got to set up our own futon instead of staff coming in and doing it for us. We Really enjoyed the privacy and it was a fun experience. View was amazing. We had a smoking room, it didn’t smell of smoke at all. Dinner offered was not your typical Ryokan, it had options like spaghetti bolognese. I loved it here.
