They offered lots of services that make touring Koya-san easier, such as a night tour and baggage storage after check-out. All meditation and ceremonies had clear, informative explanations in English and Japanese. Out room was modern and very comfortable, it far exceeded our expectations.

We stayed on the second floor and there is a spacious kitchen dining room where we could can hang our clothes after laundry (1st floor). The property is about 8-10 min walking distance from the train station and there is a 7-11 along the way. Quite convenient. The friendly landlord even left us a new year gift!

Patina Osaka offers 5-star accommodation with a hot tub. Modern design style, especially the view of the palace directly from the reception area, is impressive. The spiral staircase is incredibly photogenic.

Units are complete with a private bathroom, while certain units at the ryokan also provide guests with a seating area. The hotel is so beautiful and peaceful you almost don't want to leave. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel at home. We had the shabu shabu dinner and 2 Japanese style breakfasts which were cooked right in front of us by the lovely staff who we really enjoyed talking to. The location was only a 10 minute walk from Kyoto station but in a relatively quiet location, which was very much appreciated after the busy tourist spots of Kyoto. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough and we will definitely be returning if we are ever in Kyoto again.
