Absolutely wonderful property in Anuradhapura. Clean and modern and a lovely spot to relax by the plunge pool. Also had a washing machine available to use which was a massive bonus! Very yummy Sri Lankan breakfasts each morning and we also had dinner one night there which was equally delicious! De Silva also provided great recommendations for tour guides around Anuradhapura. Would 100% stay here again!

He is incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel completely at home, while also being highly professional and attentive to all our needs. He went out of his way to help us plan our days in Mihintale exactly as we wished—and what he managed to organize for us was no small feat! He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. It's rich with temples and spiritual atmosphere. Stay at Janaka’s place, ask him for advice, and you won’t be disappointed.

Our stay at V.G.I. was fantastic. We initially planned to stay for two days, but ended up staying a week. The longer we stayed, the more we enjoyed it—not just the accommodation, but the experiences we had. As nature lovers, we aimed to observe as many animals as possible, and we succeeded 100%. Some of our favorite sightings included giant hornbills, iguana, jardon's nightjar, giant squirrels, paradise flycatchers, pond herons, crocodiles, deer, and elephants. For transportation to Ihala Kottiyaba, there are buses from the new bus station in Anuradhpra at 12:00, 14:30, and 18:00. Alternatively, you can go to the Parasangavewa junction and take a tuk-tuk (or a3-hour walk :). What we loved most: -The friendly and helpful people in the surrounding villages. They will take care of you. -Our host, Muthalif. Everyone in the 20 km area knows him, so you can explore freely and still feel safe. -Great day trips with visits to lakes and forests, and meeting wonderful people. (We ended up at W.N park once,  didnt pay for safari or anything.) -Crocodiles cruising the nearby lake every morning after sunrise. -The delicious dinners. During the hottest hours, we enjoyed relaxing around the house. If you can't sleep in the heat, opt for the AC room.

In bester Lage gelegen in Anuradhapura, bietet die Unterkunft David Villa klimatisierte Zimmer mit kostenlosem WLAN und einem kostenlosen Privatparkplatz. Ich war überrascht , nach dem ich in Vergangenheit in dieser Preisklasse wirklich sehr schleche Unternünfe gehabt habe wie gepflegt und sauber Villa David ist. Besitzer sehr gastfreundlich und hilfsberreit. Ich würde wieder buchen.

Das Frühstück war extrem umfangreich und köstlich! Man wird gut beraten, über alles, was man in der Umgebung unternehmen kann. Aber auch im sehr schönen Garten am Pool lässt sich die Zeit geniessen. Super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!

Gently refurbished, preserving the old art deco details and yet with a fresh and up-to-date feel. Very clean and lots of space. Wonderfull breakfast with a choice for every diet. Very kind staff and great value for money. Right in the heart of Anuradhapura Ancient City "
