Archway Motels & Chalets offers quiet and secluded accommodation, only 200 metres from Lake Wanaka. Set on 2 acres of gardens featuring native trees, tulips, roses and fruit trees, the spacious grounds include a covered BBQ area with picnic tables.

The children’s playground has a trampoline and swings. Guests can relax in the wooden hot tub, which features views of the gardens and mountains (charges apply). Great location right above the city center, all the restaurants are within walking distance and even one of the wineries (the Maude winery) was right behind the corner, so we paid it a visit. The lady at the reception was very friendly and overall super helpful. The room was very clean, the kitchen well equipped and the A/C was a great addition (apparently you can’t find it in every hotel in NZ). We only stayed for one night, but it would be perfect for a longer vacation. It it also very calm and I can imaging that it’s quite kids friendly.

Commodore Airport Hotel Christchurch features spacious rooms, conference/meeting facilities and plenty of free car parking. The award-winning native gardens provide a peaceful atmosphere. The proximity to the airport is a plus, as well as the complimentary shuttle service - even in the middle of the night. Our spacious room surpirised us positively. Breakfast was good and abundant. We had no problems with any airplane noise.

Located in Twizel, Ben Ohau Villa provides accommodation with private pool, free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive. With garden views, this accommodation offers a patio. The villa has a picnic area and a hot tub. Location was private. Not a bad drive to Mt Cook.

Featuring a restaurant, the 4-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom. Guests can use the hot tub, or enjoy mountain views. The Villas (only 2 on the property) are superb. Very private and beautifully located overlooking the vineyard. There is no TV which is a great thing. Absolutely loved our stay and would have stayed longer if we hadn't been returning home. The restaurant service, food and wine was excellent.

The air-conditioned holiday home consists of 1 bedroom, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave and a coffee machine, and 1 bathroom with a hot tub and a hair dryer. Guests can take in the views of the sea from the balcony, which also has outdoor furniture. For added privacy, the accommodation has a private entrance and soundproofing. Clean tidy lovely wee place to stay! Not far from the township. Great views of the river

The guest house is equipped with a flat-screen TV. The kitchenette comes with a microwave, a toaster and a fridge and there is a private bathroom with bathrobes and a hair dryer. The property has an outdoor dining area. Exceptional hideaway which we will certainly visit again. The hosts were extremely thoughtful in how everything was planned and we could not have wished for more.

The luxury tent provides lake views and an outdoor fireplace. Beautifully crafted studio chalet sitting right on a lovely lake. Everything was very well thought out

At the bed and breakfast, all units come with a outdoor furniture. A microwave, a toaster and fridge are also provided, as well as a kettle. The units include a private bathroom, a hair dryer and bed linen. We had an amazing time at the cabin. The views at dawn and sunset are breathtaking, and David and his wife have been terrific hosts. Lots of small attentions made our stay perfect ! And those views...
