Guests can use the hot tub, or enjoy pool views. We had to stay an extra night on Bohol due to a flight cancellation. The Mayana Resort was an excellent choice for that night, being located close to the airport, the Tagbilaran port and some really beautiful beaches of Panglao Island. The food is excellent and special, featuring some Swiss-influenced dishes as well as a range of dishes with ostrich (something you will rarely find in most ASEAN countries). Also worth mentioning is the great value for money.

The rooms at the resort feature a terrace with views of the garden and swimming pool. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a safety deposit box. An electric kettle and a minibar is also included in the rooms. The private bathroom has a shower facility along with a hairdryer. Wonderful staff; terrific a la carte breakfast; quiet location away from the busy street and beach but only short walk away; spotlessly clean; good sized villa. The restaurant dinner menu looks great and is reasonably priced but we didn’t try it.

Guests may snorkel and fish in clear waters bordering the resort. Other leisure options include relaxing poolside massages and games of billiards and darts. We stayed 4 nights in a beach view cottage and 3 in the beach front cottage, so I will review each separately during this review We arrived after a long journey from the UK and a 2.5 hour drive from the ferry very tired, but we were greeted by such friendly staff, a fresh coconut juice and a cold flannel, so we instantly felt refreshed and and so welcome. The view as you walk through the restaurant to the pool area, with the white sand, blue sea and palm trees is just beautiful - feels like walking into paradise. Beng able to see amazing sunsets to the right of the beach and sunrise to the left, was incredible. Food was very tasty, there was good choice and it was very reasonable, considering you were in a resort. It is a small and intimate resort and rooms are large, clean with good shower and aircon. The wifi system works well in the room, restaurant & pool area. We stayed in a beach view room for the first 4 days as that was all that was available. They were absolutely fine and very similar in style to the beach front ones, just set back a bit further, so you can see the sea from outside, but not hear the waves and watch the view from inside the room. Beach front rooms weren’t available immediately, so we changed halfway through our stay - well worth it. These beach front rooms have full glass sliding doors so you have a full sea view even from inside the room and can hear the waves lapping on the sand. There are a few other things minor touches in the beach front rooms that aren’t in the ones further back, so if you can, it’s worth the extra money, we’ll, we thought so anyway. Anda as an area is very quiet and resort based, last orders in the restaurant is at 9pm, so if you’re looking for a party atmosphere, this isn’t the place, you’d be better off at Alona Beach in Panglao!! There is however a town, maybe 25/30 mins along the beach, that is very accessible and a tuktuk return is only php150 each way.

Banyan Villa Panglao with private pool is a recently renovated villa in Panglao, where guests can makes the most of its pool with a view, garden and shared lounge. The property features pool and garden views, and is 700 metres from Danao Beach. The accommodation provides a hot tub, free WiFi throughout the property and a shared kitchen. The property is absolutely gorgeous. Very private and perfect size for a group of 6.

Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a private pool, pool view and a terrace, Alf's Guesthouse is located in Panglao. A hot tub and a bicycle rental service are available for guests. There is free private parking and the property offers paid airport shuttle service. The pool was a real highlight for us. We used it a lot. The room was exceptionally clean, had adequate space and nicely decorated. Of course, you are not alone on the property but we rarely saw our neighbours and when we did, they were super friendly so we felt very comfortable there. We enjoyed being away from the heave of Alona Beach but close enough to eat there if we wanted. I would certainly stay here again. It was great value for money.
