What a beautiful relaxing place to stay. The staff are attentive and helpful. We arrived at 3pm and were able to have lunch and a drink on the patio enjoying the views up and down the river. Our room was very comfortable and clean with a large sliding door out onto a deck from where we could enjoy the views and a welcome drink. The pool was nice and refreshing to swim in after a day exploring. Breakfast was really nice with cooked on demand option of eggs and bacon along with a continental selection. The bed was comfortable with lovely bedding on it and the bathroom was very clean and serviced daily. Hint - it is difficult to find places to eat in the small township during the week that are open, we chose to eat in two out of three nights, the food was well cooked and tasty but not spectacular and on par with everything else in the area price / standard / recipie wise.

Breakfast and picnic baskets setup by the river were great too. Kayaks were a great way to explore the area.

The location is breathtaking, and no photos can truly capture its beauty. The food at the restaurant was the best we’ve experienced in Portugal so far, and the wines offered a wonderful introduction to this remarkable wine region. We will definitely return at some point in our lives, as this place has carved out a special place in our hearts.
