Hotels near Great Wall of China - Mutianyu, Bohaisuo

It’s so close to the wall. You can sit in the gardens and look at the wall. The staff were exceptional. Incredibly helpful in guiding us about wall tickets etc. The hotel shuttle to the wall was a lovely vehicle and the entire hotel felt extremely classy and high end. It makes going to the wall a lovely experience, rather than a rushed bus tour.

This place is absolutely amazing! The location is a beautiful getaway in a small village near the Great Wall and as a Westerner from Europa, I could not have wished for a more perfect stay to visit the Great Wall and enjoy some quiet time as a couple after a couple of weeks in Beijing/Shanghai. Upon arrival, we were asked what we liked for food and gave our preferences, which in response, we got the best high-quality food that we have had in China. As we were alone on the premises (we went off-season in September) we literally had a private chef cooking with only fresh ingredients from their garden and the best fish from around there. I mean…🤩 Later we got asked to make a hike to the Wild Great Wall where we had some insane views when on top. Not only did the staff pick and drop us off with a golf cart but we got the yummiest/best lunch pack to picnic on top of the wall. When we arrived back from our hike one of the staff members was ready to pick us up with the golf cart and some nice relaxing tea 🫖. We initially thought that the price was only for breakfast but when arriving we heard that the lunch + dinner + soft drinks/water was all included in the price. So in the end we thought it was a true gem for that price with that amount of quality and made us book a day longer. Overall this was one of the best and nicest experiences I ever had in my life in any hotel. Would for sure recommend going here.

Fabulous family run guest house, where the owners picked us up from Beijing and dropped us off at airport at a reasonable cost, as well as ferrying us to and from the great wall and other local sites free of charge. The home made meals we had, were some of the best meals in China.

Everything was great!!! We loved our rooms (super quiet, clan and well equipped, with hair dryer, slippers, shower gel, shampoo, towels, etc.) and the rest of the accomodation (well furnished and with a super nice rooftop where we had refreshing beers after climbing the Great Wall). Also the position of the Hotel is great: super close to cable car entrance (both the one leasing to watchtower n. 14 and the smaller one taking to watchtower n. 11). But the best part was having the chance to spend time with the owner’s family: she is a great chef and good english speaker (she cooked for us one of the best dinner we had in China and she gave us some suggestions for our visit to the Great Wall), her husband was super nice and drove us to the Airport after our stay (while listening to chinese music that we loved) and their 10years old child was so nice and spent some time with us during our little apetizer on the rooftop 😍 They were simply lovely and super kind and helpful ❤️ Thank you so much, hope we’ll keep in touch! Micky and her family were superb hosts. They house is beautifully decorated with really comfortable rooms. Breakfast was the best we had during our stay in China. We were so lucky to have found such a beautiful home stay and such excellent hospitality.
